[PHI 1000] Zombies vs. Social Robots

Some argue that, if zombies are conceivable, it follows that zombies are possible, which means that physicalism is false.
  1. If zombies are conceivable, then zombies are possible.
  2. If zombies are possible, then physicalism is false.
  3. Therefore, if zombies are conceivable, then physicalism is false
Now, what if social robots are also conceivable?

Watch Social Robots on PBS. See more from NOVA scienceNOW.

So, if consciously aware robots are conceivable, it follows that they are possible. If consciously aware robots are possible, does it follow that dualism is false?
  1. If social robots are conceivable, then social robots are possible.
  2. If social robots are possible, then dualism is false.
  3. Therefore, if social robots are conceivable, then dualism is false.
What do you think about this argument?
